The Fascinating Ijen Crater Blue Fire

Ijen crater blue fire is a rare natural phenomenon found around sulphur mining area in Mount Ijen, Banyuwangi, East Java. Blue flame Ijen is a natural phenomenon from the burning of solfatara gas which coming out to the ground. FYI, blue fire phenomena can only be found in two places, is in Ijen Crater, Banyuwangi, Indonesia and Danakil Depression, Ethiopia.

In this shared tours, the crews will pick up the tourists from their hotels, or the participants can meet together in Tour Banyuwangi’s basecamp as the meeting point, which is located at Jalan KH. Agus Salim no 3A Banyuwangi.

Leaving from the meeting point or hotels, the group will head to Paltuding trekking camp. Dawn in the morning, the group will start to hike to Mount Ijen. The hiking is started around 01.00 – 02.00 am. The trekking is about 3 kilometers long and commonly takes 1,5 – 2 hours.

Reaching the summit of Ijen mountain, the tour participants will enjoy the blue fire before sunrise. When the sun already rises, you will be greeted by the beautiful turquoise caldera of Ijen volcano, and also the sulphur miners who climbing up and down the hill with sulphur stones on their shoulders.

The participants of Ijen blue fire tour will go back to Paltuding around 06.00 am. If possible, depends upon the condition of the group members, the participants may visit Jagir waterfall before going down to the city.

Jagir waterfall Banyuwangi is a twin waterfall located in Desa Kampung Anyar, Kecamatan Glagah. After visiting those beautiful waterfall, the crew will drive the participants back to meeting point or hotels, either to take some rest or to check out immediately.

Explore Baluran, The Africa van Java

At midday, the tour participants will be picked up to Baluran National Park. Located in the east end of East Java, these national park has a natural prairie called Savannah Bekol. The tourists will find an African-like landscape with animals roaming around the wide savannah.

Savannah Bekol is the natural habitat for Javanese Banteng (Bos javanicus), wild buffalo, deer, peacock, monkey, several kinds of bird and other fauna. Baluran is also a home for the typical flora, Akasia, which attracts the visitors to take some selfies. Some skulls of deers and bantengs heads are displayed there to make the park more iconic.

Not only the fascinating savanna and exotic jungle, in Baluran National Park tour you can also see the white-sand beach called Pantai Bama. Bama beach Baluran serves you a georgeous underwater. The tour participants can snorkle or just have a sitghseeing through the mangrove forest.

Having explored national park which called as the little Africa van Java, the group will be back to the city, Banyuwangi, around 15.30 pm. It takes around an hour from the park to the city. The crew will take the tour participants to bus station, station, hotel or any drop area around the city.
